The ISO standards that we prefer for PDF's are:

• ISO 32000: Portable Document Format 1.7
• ISO 15930: PDF/X - facilitating graphics exchange
• ISO 19005: PDF/A - for long term preservation

Both the PDF/X and PDF/A file specifications mandate the embedding of all fonts used in the documents. We suggest making sure all fonts are embedded in any PDF you bring us. This helps to ensure that everything stay exactly as you designed it.

Several programs from some of the world's leading software companies are now able to save your work to PDF directly, for no extra cost. These programs are listed on the right of this page, and even include the de-facto standard in office applications: Microsoft Office!

Some operating systems such as Apple's Mac OS X, and several leading Linux distributions even allow you to create a PDF file through their printing dialogues from any application that allows you to print your work.
